by Troyle - 3rd grade

I saw a horse it bucks

It give's luck's

I give ruck's

it's fun.

My horse runs fast

the other horse come in last

it sure is a blast

it was awesome.

My grandma gave me her good luck

all the kids threw a rock

hey don't knock

my grandma is always sad.

I like to see the stars

my sister said she can see Mars

she has scars

she is still happy.

I like to move my toys

they have loys

they don't like moys

it's was funny.

I like to rule the word

I respect the Lord

nobody ever snore

it was cool.

Fairies Light

by Kaisee - 4th grade

When my mom tucked me in

I saw a little light

and outside my window in the forest

was a great big fairy fight.

I went outside to the leaves

where it was about

and there were fairies fighting away

one's who'd scream and shout.

I climbed out my window

head and feet down

but when I saw they were playing

it gave me a frown.

It seemed to be dodge ball

quite a game

very fun

not lame.

I felt really weird

cause fairies don't fight

especially in the moon

at the time of midnight.

And that's how I got stuck outside

I had to sleep in snow

I saw my mom waking up

through the frosted window.

In the morning

I knocked on the door

as the frosted snow

began to pour.

My mom answered

the door got stuck

she opened the window

without going amuck.

She saw me freezing

while the snow went down

and that's how my mom

got a great big frown.

I still have frost bite

on my legs and toes

I have red, red, cheeks

and a red, red nose.

Now I know

to leave fairies alone

and in the winter

I always stay home.

I watch the stars

flow past my eye

and I still see a fairy

flying in the sky.

Now it's over

the fairies are gone

but I still see a light

right after dawn.

The fairies will be back

next winter frost

I just hope

they won't get lost.

Summer

by   - 4th grade

The wind was blowing fiercely

the snow all so high

on the ground over there everywhere

coming from the sky.

blowing, snowing what could go wrong

except the stormy night

no school no work

until the morning's light.

Then school is cancelled

what else will it do

having fun in the snowy day

now nobody give's a who.

I Like To

by Ashley - 5th grade

I like to watch the stars at night,

and lift rocks with all my might.

I like to climb all the trees,

and chase the birds to make them flee.

I like to roll around in the grass,

to make my fantastic fun last.

I like to pick all the flowers,

boy I wish I had superpowers.

I like to pull at the weeds,

and give the squirrels all their needs.

I like to think I am in the ocean,

and...CRAP!  I forgot my lotion!

I like to do all kinds of things,

things that make the birds sing.

I like to swing on the branches of trees,

I like to think that I have wings.

I like to do all that stuff,

and I think that that is enough

because it was fun,

but now I rarely sit in the sun.

The Wild Horses of the State

by Dillyn - 5th grade

I see the wild horses,

running down the hill,

and some are left standing,

standing there, still.

As the horses gaze across,

wind blows threw their hair

the others sit there and watch

and their colts, sit and stare.

As others come and join,

the running herd, gets bigger

the mare's tell their colts

please, come and linger.

When they run threw the water,

water splashes everywhere,

the water gets on the leaders,

the stallion and the mare.

the herd finds their land

with fresh grass on the ground

and while the wind is blowing

oh, that beautiful bound.

When the eagle soars across,

the horse's look up high

the eagle fly's away

the horses take a sigh.

When the day turned to night,

all the horses lie down

when they fall asleep,

they dream of the beautiful sound.

When night turned to day,

they all rise without fear,

and when the colts nurse,

they stay close near.

When the stallion watches the herd,

when the herd is ready to run,

while the eagle soars across,

across, the flaring sun.

When the horses leave their land,

some gallop and some run
when the horses run upon,

the little one's are having fun.

When they land at a lake,

they are thirsty you can see,

when they leave the clear blue lake,

there's nothing left to be,

As they ran across the lands,

as fast as can be,

their hearts where beating fast,

cause they were running free.

These horses took a stop

without fear, without hate,

cause these horses will be known as,

the wild horses of the state.

NO TITLE

by Jonathan - 6th grade

I was born and raised in a little old town

were the great thunder birds roamed around

people say that there was lightning that struck the ground

and I felt was a big bang in the ground.

When that so called lightning struck the ground

it felt like something really came down

so I looked outside it was a eagle

that struck the ground.

There once was a little rabbit

that loved to run around

but now because of my habit

that rabbit went to the hound.

I saw a little deer

but all I heard was a bang

I see that he got it here

but now the dog bites it with his fang.

I went to school

and did a lot of work

I really did not think it was cool

but at least I wasn't a jerk.

On a very dark and wintry day

when it was very cold

down flew a screaming jay

squawking so bold that made me want to hold.

A bald eagle lives in parts

of our great land

but we all no the eagle lives in our hearts

I feel like I can hold one in my old hands.
