My Dog and I

by Zoe

We walk through the forest

across the bridge

to the meadow

and on the ridge.

She chases huns

away from our sight

the sun goes down

and it is night.

Her eyes shine in the darkness

my dog and I forever

she will always be my puppy

although she's not too clever.

She hangs her head over the stream

"SPLASH" she falls right in

she's not the smartest dog in the world

but she will always be kin.

My dog's not only clumsy

but also very spoiled

when we come home from our adventures

she jumps onto my head, just like she is royal.

But that just shows how much I love her

how I let her on my bed

And I think of how much fun we had

I put my hand upon he head.

Then I lay down, and go to bed.

Family Hunting

by Ashley

One time that we went hunting

Just my dad, my mom and I

we were creeping through the forests

something had caught my eye.

I told my dad, he told my mom

we thought it couldn't be

but there just grazing in the field

were some white tailed bucks; three.

My dad and I stood in awe

my mom was so confused

she wondered why she came out here

she felt like she was used.

My dad took out his rifle

I had my 22

as he aimed his gun at the big one

we hoped to hit a few.

Out of the blue, I heard a big bang

I blinked then opened my eyes

I sat there in shock and then realized

my dad shot the deer in the rear thighs.

My mom's face turned blank

as my dad took that second shot

he hit the buck straight in the heart

right smack in that spot.

We picked it up and brought it home

in my dad's pickup truck

while driving on the road

my dad almost hit a... duck.

We finally got home

and admired dads winner

we kept the head and cooked the body

we had such a big dinner.

On that day we went hunting

my mom and I were proud now

of my father and his trophy

whose head looked like a big cow.
