By Ashton - Kindergarten

TJ was trying to rope a snake
because it was plumbed mean,
it gave him a belly ache
like he just ate a bean.

He took the gun and throwed it
right down by his foot
and then he pulled the trigger
and the dang thing went kaput!

Wild horses running free
living in the mountains;
it is a pretty place to be
With trees and grass and fountains.

The flowers they are blooming
and the grass is emerald green.
The horses all were running
it's the prettiest sight I've seen.

Danielle - 2nd grade

I have a horse who's BJ,
she really can't run
but I love her anyway
cause she is lots of fun.

I like to ride on sunny days
with the wind blowing in my face.
We like to play in lots of ways
we even like to race.

BJ is a pretty paint
her colors are brown and white
her beauty would make an angel faint
she's really quite a sight.

BJ has a best friend black
Black is my grandpa's donkey
he likes to eat a whole hay stack
to have a friend like Black is lucky.

There's pretty horses in the field,
with pinks and greens and yellows,
with pretty flowers in a beautiful field
calling the ponies fellows.

Standing in front of a beautiful field
with the sunny skies above.
The ponies are looking straight at me
the ponies that I love.

There's sorrels and chestnuts and bays
with such beautiful colors.
There names are Lady and Glaze and Sunny Day;
two are sisters and one is a brother.

Animals go Crazy
by Travis - 4th Grade

Pepper is a horse that likes to bite,
his Dad is named Perfecto and he neighs and runs a lot,
I like to feed his tummy when I get home at night.
Pepper is such a spoiled brat and snot.

He likes to chase the bunnies
and he plays with Jr. the dog.
When they're playing they look funny
and he can't find Misty in the fog.

Jr. likes to find money
cats like to chase frogs
He likes to lay with his honey
Jr. likes to chase the hogs.

Bucking Bronks
by Krista  - 5th grade

I like watching cowboys get bucked off
it's fun as all get out
it's fun to see them go aloft
from pony's big and stout.

They go high and land hard
it hurts them when they fall.
Them guys must be total retards,
they ain't got no brains at all.

They have a mouth full of dirt,
a bottom full of bruises
and a head full of hurt
and they have no excuses.

by Jessica  - 6th grade

Once when I was walking in the brush
I saw a dog who's hair was braided.
He went somewhere in a rush
on him his color was faded.

I do not know just where he went
it was gone without a trace.
He left a very strange scent
and a bad look on my face.

I turned around to find him
but nowhere could I see.
I think I'll name him Jim
oh where, oh where could he be.

Just then I heard a bark
so I went over there.
But I only seen a meadowlark
and the area was so bare.

The Sun Burned Jaguar
by Lacey - 7th grade

The jaguar growls
it has now found its prey.
A coyote howls
the start of a new day.

The mountains are high above the sky
the grass is green, so green.
The jaguar's prey is gonna die
he is feeling really mean.

If he had some shade
or if he was under a tree.
The jaguar would have it made
then he would be as happy as me.

If he just had some food
it would make his day.
The jaguar would be a happy dude,
everything would be going his way.

A Cowboy's Job
by Joe - 8th grade

A cowboy's job is to work on the ranch
from training horses to working cattle.
He never passed up the chance
if you take it slow, there will be no battle.

Long cattle drives are his favorite thing to do,
sleeping under the stars by the fire
but its hard to get to sleep when the cows say moo,
but I sure do admire.

Waking up at dawn
starting back on the trail.
We seen a doe and a fawn
both looking perty pale.

As the cattle cross the river
a young calf gets stuck.
He gave all the rope he could giver
then he pulled it out of the muck.

The get home and put the cattle away
then he goes in to relax a little.
When he wakes up it is a new day
then he goes to play his fiddle.
