Freedom
by Camille - 8th Grade
Walking on a shining day
Staring at the clouds,
Sprawled on the grass I lay.
Where its not too loud.
Thinking, pondering, listening,
With cold I am numb.
Wet eyes are glistening,
Then darkness starts to come.
Its time to go back to the world
And all reality
Only for another day
That I could once again be free.

As the soft moonlight glints off the new powdered snow
Like sifted white glitter
Picking my face as the wind starts to blow
I stand with my hands in my pockets, the chill is bitter
And as I gaze in to the black velvet sky
A slow streak skates across the night
If you look closely you can see
A fire dancing
Inside of me
Little ambers chancing...
Chancing the piercing cold
Of the harsh world today
You would think our souls were sold
And the angels of our time had flown away
But if you look in to the stars
You can see the tears the angels have cried
You know heavens not too far
And the angels are still fighting at our side.
