A Tiger who Wears a tie
Jesse - 4th grade
I saw a tiger
he was fancy
he wore a tie
it was antsy.
It flipped around
then fell off
oh my goodness
did I hear it cough?
It started raining
the tiger was cold
did I just see that?
he can fold?
I must be dreaming
I told a lie
the tiger got mad
we fought for the tie.
I think he's dead
I'm just guessing now
the tie just cried
what the heck, the tie's walking around.
Boy that was a good movie
it's too good to be true
Man why did I do that?
I yelled out boo.
I change my mind
that movie stunk
if it was in school
I already flunked.

Hamsters
Breann - 5th grade
The hamsters go round in their wheel
90 miles per hour
they knock each other off the wheel
and then they eat a flower.
They sleep in the day
and run at night
they get kranky when we wake them
and they start to fight.
They eat and eat and stuff their cheeks
and never ever stop
then they spit it out at us
and then they start to hop.
They run, sleep and eat
thats all they ever do
I'm sorry everybody
but now my poem is through!

Naturally free
Cassie - 8th grade
Nature is abundant
though freedom of it is not.
We sit at the campfire
thinking a precious thought.
We think of cattle herding
and home cooked meals
our thoughts are disrupted
by the lil' hawks' squeals.
We miss our fluffy beds.
and our loving wives.
The men still thinking of their children
and are settling with the cowboy lives.
They think back to their childhood
of riding horse and training steer.
Out in the wide open fields,
without a single fear.
We're finishing the round-up,
as evening is slowly coming.
So put on your hats
cause it bout time we be leaving.
Now we saddle up our horses,
getting ready for the ride home
we can't wait to see our family
and till once again...we roam.
