by Taylre Elizebeth Sitz
let us bow our heads in prayer to bless this food.
Dear Lord, Thank you for the little things like this and that and for the big things that bring us back
Thank you for the sunlit walks and for the crops and livestock
Thank you for the lessons learned and the blessings, given and earned
Please bless the food and help it to nourish us and sustain us Help us to carry out your will without any fuss Lead us into another successful year with all of our loved ones to whom we hold dear
In Jesus name we pray
Amen

Bad Bear Breath by Connor - 5th grade
I was walking through the forest when I smelled something rank I turned to see a big ole' bear and I slapped him on his flank.
He gave me a big old growl and his body smelled like death and that's when I realized it was just his bad bear breath.
We went crashing through the trees and a branch almost took off my ear I let him get too close and he nipped me on my rear.
We came to a clearing and I almost came to a stop then out of nowhere the bear just dropped.
He might of tripped for sure but no matter what it wasn't his death but the most likely reason of all was he got a whiff of his bad bear breath. **************
Wild Horses by Taylre - 6th grade
Hundreds of them, racing across the land but then they stop...they are silent as they stand The look in awe at their home the only place they care to roam.
Then one turns around gives a neigh with a final peek they head far away to the corner of the kingdom of which they reign here they will find something to nibble such as hay or grain.
Wild and free describes these creatures right although a flicker of gentleness is seen in their candlelight the kindest of creatures you'll ever meet as you run your courses Is most definitely the wild horses. *************
The Real Deal by Jacob - 6th grade
If he is the real deal, How does he show it? Is it because what he says and boasts about things he did? If true, don't be teased, or believe it one bit!
Is it because shape, size, and color of his body Is he proud and is his mouth loud are his lies bigger than his truths?
Or does he speak with words that can't be heard? But one can only be the real deal, if he can show greatness in actions, and not with special captions. ************
Galloping Goat Roper by Kayla - 7th grade
Rodeo has never been the same since 1987 came it had a new claim to fame and goat roping was it's name.
If you had a horse and a rope of course you could be a Galloping Goat Roper but you had to be a loper.
With a goat in the chute your horse will have a dispute but she settles down with all four feet on the ground.
A rope in hand the crowd cheering like a band a nod of your head and the goat will surely need a med.
Your horse takes off like a big bad cough you caught him around the neck but you can't find your horn and think what the heck.
You finally get your dally and jump off ole Sally you grab the legs like they're pegs.
When the goat hit he ground there won't be no sound you tie the legs together and wait for six altogether.
The goat stays tied oh boy its been a ride so your name if only a hoper could be Galloping Goat Roper. *************
Montana Born and Bred by Kaelen - 7th grade
To the hills to the mountains to the splashing water fountains. "Isn't it beautiful?" my family said. I am Montana born and bred.
To the leaves on the ground flowing up and then down. But then the winter wind blows and it comes and it goes.
Then spring is here the birds sing and they cheer. Everything becomes green and it looks like a carefully painted scene.
Then summer finally comes, and the flowers have bloomed in very large sums. Before I know it I've grown older and Montana has grown bolder.
Montana's taught me well and it's my story to tell. I'm thankful for what my family said, I am Montana born and bred. ***********
