Rotten Rabbit
by Dakota - 4th Grade

Once I saw rotten rabbit

and I just wanna run

cause I just have  fear

and then I get my gun.

But then I don't wanna shoot it

cause I know it will hurt

o I put my gun back

beneath my rainbow shirt.

And then I just say to myself

why am I afraid of rabbits?

I don't know why I did all this

because of my habits.

No Title

by Coltan - 5th Grade

My Grandpa is rancher yes he is

but first they had to cross the wild blue

its dangerous yet it is

and they made it to Montana where it cool.

First we had to get there

we started to mine

and we got money from it

and our houses are made out of pine.

We came on a horse

I am sure it was hard

and it was hard going

and they didn't ride in a cart.

I have been in Montana my whole life

and my ancestor came from Ireland

and came here to strike it rich

and they survived it

so we decide to come here and hitched.

Meadow Muffins

by Dalton - 6th Grade

I love food a lot

and I ain't bluffin

I want another one

of your meadow muffins.

I want some potatoes

they go great with stuffin'

but it doesn't matter

the best is a meadow muffin.

A big bad wolf he was

and he went to a huffin'

he tried to blow down a house

because inside was a meadow muffin.

I love me a meadow muffin

my friend thought they were great

he was really hungry

but those were all he ate.

I knocked my muffins off the counter

the bag started to soar

the muffins are so tasty

until they hit the floor.

The muffins are on the ground

there's a mess on my floor

I feel so disgusted

so I'm headed out the door.

I'm out of meadow muffins

I need to go to the store

I must have meadow muffins

now I need to eat more.

I want meadow muffins

I already ate four

they are very tasty

but I can't eat any more.

My Montana Meadows

by 7th & 8th Grade

Surrounded by mountains

and trees of all kinds

where worries are lost

in the back of our minds.

Where you hear the birds sing

and you just sit for hours

crowded by nature

and its delicate flowers.

As I look at the sky

my thoughts remain mellow

warmed by the sun

and flowers of yellow.

The memories it brings

as I look down below

so peaceful and free

it's the place that I go.

It's all that I need

My Montana meadows.

Up here so high

the clouds are like pillows

it's all like a dream

by these bloomin' red willows.

the mountains wind sighs

like the tune on a cello...string.

The sun's goin' down

and it's castin' a shadow.

The days' at its end

I'll be back tomorrow.

It's all that I need

My Montana meadows...

What more could I need

than my Montana meadows.

Big Buffalo Bottom

by Justin - 11 grade

Down in the valley far and wide

I look up and down and side to side

as I am looking with my big ole eyes

I spot the behind of an animal with extra ordinary size.

With my binoculars in hand I take a closer gander

there is woods she stands, I found her

when I reach this brown and tall magnificent beast

I throw a saddle on her hump and head into town to feast.
