Stinking Skunk

by Duran - 6th Grade

A skunk got into my room

that stinking skunk

that's not the only thing he did

he got into my toy truck.

He got into everything

my clothes too

I'm going to get that skunk

if its the last thing I do.

I saw it walking along one day

I remembered my vow

it's my time now

to get that skunk now.

I snuck up on him

but he saw me, that sneaky little thing

I hit him with a pot

 it made a loud bing.

So I loaded the skunk

in my car

and started driving

somewhere very far.

I unloaded him

to a family of skunks

now he is happy knowing

he can pester other punks.

I start driving off

out of the wilderness

now I don't know if I can bear

all the lonesome loneliness.

I love that thing

hat big fur ball

of gruesome stink

at least he'll have time to call.

The Goofy Goat

by shivonne - 6th grade

My goat will eat anything

he at my notebook, pens, and backpack

that darn goat of mine

I wish he would leave and never come back

I feed him grains and oats

but he still eats my stuff

I tried to stop him

but he is just too tough and buff.

Silly Squirrel

by An - 7th grade

Silly squirrel ran up the tree

to get some nuts for winter

he tripped and fell then skinned his knee

he got back up and got a splinter.

The silly squirrel pulled it out

then grabbed his nuts and tried again

he walked through the trees and thought about

how to get home from where he's been.

Mouthy Magpie

by Toisha - 7th grade

I seen a mouthy magpie yesterday

he was whining because he had a stomach ache

I tried to give him some pepto bismol but he said no way

instead he said he wanted a milk shake.

He started whining again

said he was nervous cause he had a date

I have him some advice as a friend

I  told him not to be nervous maybe it is fate.

He said his stomach felt a little better

and that he should be on his way

and maybe he'll write me a letter

then he said have a nice day.

I watched him fly away

hoping one day I could fly

just to feel the wind beneath me

and forever to be in the sky.

Choose Life, Not Death

by TeAira - 8th grade

So much stuff, so bad for you

marijuana, cocaine and meth,

comas, robbing's so harmful for you

it's all so bad, it leads to death.

Stabbings, shootings, and even killings

you might do it, you might see it

all of this just for that little thrilling

and all of this just for a little bit.

Harming your body

you should hit the hooks

trust me, all of that is just naughty

it ruins your looks.

have fun and quit meth

live, laugh, love

choose life, not death

and fly like a dove.

Wolves

by Daina - 8th grade

In the woods they prowl

on the prowl search of meat

you can hear them growl

their silent paws pounding.

Like the drum beats of their heart

they howl to the full moon

sing their songs and make the animals dart

whispering their stories on the nights winds.

scampering in the night

running swift and fast

with the bright light

shining on them like a ghost.

Quiet now their coming

fast and swift like a cold winters wind

dark trees swaying

with the snow glittering like diamonds.

Their eyes glowing red, yellow, white

like tiny stars in the sky

listen know their coming swiftly in the night

sleeping for now its time to go.

Nature's Majestic Animal

by Danielle- 7th grade

Coming through the forest

an animal like no other

howling at nature's what planet

running through the thick woods

catching deer, if only they could

nature's majestic animal

so beautiful and free

the wolf howling at native's white planet

nature's majestic animal

running in packs across the golden field

the grey light shining through clouds of puff

prowling through the woods

if only they could

howling at the fires sign of love

defending the kill they have received

snarling at each other

itching their ears for fleas

staring at the passing seas

nature's majestic animal

the wolf running through the trees

listening to buzzing bees

nature's majestic animal.
