By Daylon - 5th grade

One day I saw a horse
it won a lot of races
it was a two time world champ
he saw a lot of faces.

I watched him race
he won the race by a mile
when he got back to his trailer
he received a great huge smile.

After that I went to see his owner
I asked if he was for sale
the owner said, "no
your hay is probably way to stale."

He was a great big paint
he was super good with a halter
it took a really long time
to get him not to falter.

He had a long tail
he ate a lot of hay
when his tail was in the loft
I just had to shout hooray!!!!

He is a stallion
he is really wild
he hates to play
but he acts like a child.

I like horses
they are cool
they are fun
when I ride them I look like a fool.

I listen quietly
hear the sound
walking up and down in the grass
horses falling to the ground.

On the horse
I glide so fast
seeing other people
and all the sudden I'm in the grass.

The grass so green
the smell so fresh
the horses poop
it makes a mess.

The trees so green
the grass so high
the bark so thick
My o my I wonder why.

All the sudden
I see a mud pile
I jump in it
for a while.

The sky so bright
the skylight blue
birds' fly in the sky
as pretty as you.

The sun so bright
while the horse I ride
my face so shiny
the sun stays by my side.

Menagerie
By Salena  - 7th Grade

One day we were sorting cows
it was miserable and hot
riders going this way and that
sooner or later the cows would be in a pot.

There was cud everywhere
even in our underwear
it was gooey and sticky
I didn't know if I would end up bare.

There was clothes flying here and there
it was like a stripping bar
I just kept my eyes closed
and ran into a car.

Suddenly the cows flipped out
scattering every where
horses went to bucking
and I lost my underwear.

Then all the cows went to beef
it was nice and cool
a car pulled up and saw me
and I felt like a fool.

Moon Bull
 By Haley - 7th grade

There once was a purple moon bull
 whose eyes were blood red
whose hooves were hard as rock
and whose horns were pure lead!

 He could travel through time
he could zoom through the stars
he could come to Pluto and back in under a minute
he was faster then 10 cars!

When one day he decided to take a quick turn
to see the scenery, or meet a lady or two
he zipped around until he found the perfect place
 and into earth he flew!

After he landed he took off his goggles
he decided to take a peek around
what was this weird place all covered in green
he did not like it! He stamped his foot, he pawed the ground.

He decided to leave this bad place
 he ran, jumped, and fell!
There was some force holding him down
 things were all mell-pell!

 This bull was stuck
he was in quite a pickle
he'll have to stay here forever
 now he's stuck, making nickels.

 Ride sandy ride
 this horse is wild
 it could buck you off
 if you're a young child

 keep putting in ten cents
 ride all day
 have a lot of fun
you don't even have to give the horse hay.

 Come and play
 it's kind of funny
 but to ride on me
 it costs you money.

 Hold up horsy
 let me get control
 don't let me fall
 or I will call patrol.

 This is getting scary
 this has got to stop
 this horse is crazy
 I am going to flop

 You were getting worried
 someone pulled the plug
 when I jumped off
you gave me a great big hug.

 PBR National Championship
 By Travis - 8th Grade

 PBR National Championships
 with slobber on his chin
Ty Murray was riding a bull
 they called him Panhandle Slim.

This would be the third time that Ty could try
two times before Ty fell in the mud
Slim was the hardest draw in the tournament
 Slim was looking for blood.

 It was Ty's turn
 so they tied Slim tight
 Slim kind of flinched
but he was ready for the fight.

 Ty hopped on
you could see the fire in Slim's eye
 Ty was shaking
he was scared that he was going to die.

 Ty shook his head
 they opened the chute
 Slim shot out
like he was on a hot pursuit.

Eight seconds never seemed so long
 but in the end
 the horn blew
and Ty was still on Slim's hind end.
