Crazy Eyed Cow
Abbey - 6 grade

You never see her,
the crazy eyed cow
you always look,
but you don't know how.

If you ever did see her,
it would be fast
you never may see her,
so don't let your thoughts last.

Yesterday I thought I saw
the crazy eyed cow,
so I told my maw,
she said it wasn't true,
but it didn't stop paw.

Pay took his gun and ran out the door,
he said he's gonna shoot that crazy eyed cow,
and off he went
when he remembered he don't know how.

The next day my brother thought he saw her, he said to himself,
"I finally get to see her for the very first time"
he realized it was our bull
now, he's in the hospital, and doin' just fine.

So next time your try,
to catch the crazy eyed cow,
be sure it's her,
and be sure you know how.

A Real Cowboy
Sarah - 7th grade

Do you know a real cowboy, 'cause many think well, maybe so
but often they are wrong because they don't know.
People think the way you dress is all that matters
to be a real cowboy, heart's all that matters.

Real cowboy's mostly spit and cuss.
even with all their hard work and never make a fuss
they spend all day in the saddle
putting in a 12 hour battle.

I know a real cowboy and it makes me sad
because only one goes by the of Dad
the real cowboy I know could ride any bronc or rope any steer
then after work he'll have maybe one beer.

All that's well and good
but a cowboy always does what he should,
any real cowboy down to the bone
a real cowboy always finds his way home.

A Soldier
Alicia - 8 th grade

The brave men stand,
with their gun in hand.
There not sure what's to come,
the United States of America, that's where their from.

Families worry about them all day,
to be home, that's where they want them to stay.
But the families know why they went over there,
for the U.S., that's who they love and care.

They try their best to stop the war,
but above their heads bombers still soar.
Everywhere they go they hear people screaming,
for the assassins, the people have no meaning.

They walk all day and sleep at night,
they try their hardest with all their might.
Most of them want to go back to their home,
where they don't feel so all alone.

No one at home understands what its like,
to be over there and in the fight.
All people know is what they see on the news,
they have no idea how it is in a sholdiers shoes.

They are all courageous and very brave men,
when the day is over, I'm always proud of them.
There still not sure what's to come,
the United States of America, that's where their from.

Shady the Shot Lady
Keishia - 8th grade

There I was standing,
at my first very first branding,
I shuttered at the thought
of dealing with shots.

The boys called my shady,
short for shot lady,
I don't know why I was scared,
but at the shot gun I stared.

My hands were shakin' and my knews were knockin'
every one around me would not stop talking,
what happens next made me laugh,
watchin' two boys tackle a calf.

After that things went alright,
but, part of this branding included a water fight,
the water was cold, the sun was hot,
but now its time to get done with my shots.

Again everything is going nice,
until I shot myself in the leg twice,
I guess you could say something's wrong with my aim,
because after myself it was Bud I did mame.

He rolled and flopped all over the sand,
crying and screaming his demise was at hand,
the guilt and anguish that went through my mind,
why I wasted vaccine and was losing good time.

When the last calf was done,
I realized I had actually had fun,
Why I am thinking, and you might think I am crazy,
I may have a career as shady the shot lady.

I'm Sick of the Blues
Heather - Senior

I'm sitting here looking out my window
and once again I'm thinking of you.
Can't seem to get you off of my mind.
But I know I'll get over you, because...
I'm sick, sick of the blues,
I'm sick, sick of you
You broke my heart and you tore me apart
Now it's time to tear you out of my mind.
I trusted you, and I was so true, but now
I'm sick, sick of the blues and
I'm sick, sick of you.
I've cried, cried for too long, and I've sang every
single sad song, but now it's time to be strong, cause
I'm sick, sick of the blues, and
I'm sick, sick of you
You've pushed me around, adn I fell to the ground
but now I'm standing up and it's time for
someone to push you down.
and I'm sick, sick of the blues, and
I'm sick, sick of you.
Sick of you, you, you
sick of you, you, you
you're no longer in my mind, and
I'm no longer going to cry cause
I'm sick, sick of the blues
ya! I'm sick, sick of you!
Sick of you!
Yaaa! Sick of You! You! You! YOU!
